World Culture

Our World Cultures program is designed to help students see themselves as part of a larger, interconnected world. It helps prepare students not only for future language study, but also for thoughtful participation in a diverse and global society. Through a combination of geography, culture, civics, and introductory world languages, students explore how people live, learn, and connect across the globe.

Laying the Foundation

Acquiring languages other than English and understanding other cultures are important skills; Clairbourn’s World Cultures program lays the foundation for our students in these critical areas.

Grades 1 through 5

Students in grade one through grade five participate in a program that consists of exposure to basic words in many languages and to the geography and cultures around the world.

A Global Perspective

The primary goals of the third, fourth and fifth grade language program are: increased awareness and appreciation of different cultures around the globe; an understanding of the value of communicating in another language; and acquisition of basic words and phrases in a safe and stimulating environment.
Our World Cultures program inspires students to embrace diversity, communicate across cultures, and become thoughtful, globally minded citizens.
