Profesora Lucas

Middle School Spanish Teacher

My educational/professional background:

I am a native Spanish speaker born in Baja California, Mexico, and raised in Southern California, which brings a rich cultural perspective to my teaching. Equipped with a Bachelor of Arts in child development from California State University, Northridge, I have dedicated the past 23 years to teaching Spanish levels 1-4. My extensive travels throughout Latin America and Spain have enriched my teaching approach, preparing students effectively for further language studies.

I choose to teach at Clairbourn because:
I chose to work at Clairbourn school because of its long standing tradition of its close community, and their support and balance of rigorous academic programs balanced with character education.

My favorite Clairbourn tradition is:
My favorite Clairbourn tradition is the way school starts every morning by coming together at assembly. I think it’s a great opportunity for the students and teachers to present and communicate to the school community. It is also an opportunity for students to lead, motivate, and participate as ambassadors of the school.

What brings me joy is:
I have six wonderful children ranging from the ages of three to thirty-three. It brings me great joy to see them grow into their own person, becoming independent, and being responsible and positive members of society. I also enjoy taking road-trips with my husband along the Northwest coast of California, Oregon, and Washington. We enjoy watching picturesque sunsets and stopping in quaint towns along the way.
