Mrs. Hanner
Grade 1 Teacher
My educational/professional background:I have been teaching since 2010, with over 13 years of experience in first grade! I earned my Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Southern Illinois University and hold an Early Childhood Education Credential (Birth–3rd Grade) in Illinois with an endorsement in Special Education. I also hold a Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (K–8) in California.
I earned my Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University Irvine, further deepening my passion for creating meaningful and engaging learning experiences for young learners.
I have been part of the Clairbourn community since 2021, and I am so proud to be a Cougar! Go Cougars! 🐾
I choose to teach at Clairbourn because:I love being part of such a kind, caring, and supportive community. Clairbourn truly feels like a family, and I am grateful to work alongside people who care so deeply about our students and one another.
My favorite Clairbourn tradition is:Free Dress Fridays! I love professional wear and the sense of community uniforms bring daily, but it's nice getting to see everyone express their style on Fridays-- students and staff alike! It feels special and also brings us together.
What brings me joy is:I love the ever-changing nature and beauty of our campus. No matter the season, there are always new colors, flowers, and little details to appreciate. I feel so lucky to teach in such a beautiful setting, surrounded by such wonderful people. Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, traveling to Illinois during the summers, and getting creative in the kitchen. And, of course, I’m a huge Swiftie!
