My educational/professional background:
I have worked in Clairbourn's preschool since 2002 and earned an Early Childhood Teaching Certificate from UCLA. I have a BFA in Dance from California Institute of the Arts, and for the past 30 years I have taught Tappercize at PCC and at various studios and parks and recs in the Pasadena area. I have also taught preschool ballet, tap,and movement at Montessori and various schools.
I choose to teach at Clairbourn because:
I am very grateful to a friend, who told me Clairbourn was hiring, back in 2002. I knew it would be a wonderful place to work.
My favorite Clairbourn tradition is:
The preschool Thanksgiving Day Feast, which includes K, PK and JPK students all seated together. We are celebrating the holiday, with pumpkin bread that we have made, on our "Grateful" placemats that show students' artwork.
What brings me joy is:
I find joy in family time; being with my two wonderful sons and their lovely gals, and anything to do with dancing, the beach, and camping in Yosemite. Work wise I find joy in getting daily hugs from our little ones, and teaching them how to tie their shoes over the course of the school year.
