"A Great Middle School Experience"
All I wanted was to have a great middle school experience, and Clairbourn gave me just that. I bonded with everyone very quickly. I soon had friendships that I never had at my old school. In only three short years, I feel that I’ve had the best time of my life at Clairbourn. Every day I look forward to coming to school and embarking on new adventures in and out of the classroom.
I know my peers would agree that Clairbourn has the best and most wonderful teachers. My teachers have played a great role in helping me face various challenges. For example, my math teacher has patiently answered my questions and assured me that I know the material well. Along the way I have grown both academically and socially. I am grateful for Mr. and Mrs. Barker, who helped to bring me out of my shell by inspiring me to take part in Shakespeare and the Pooh play. Also, my current Science teacher, Mrs. Kibbe, has helped me to become a more self-directed student. Mrs. Kiertzner always allows me to practice my piano pieces in her classroom before elective and Mrs. Mize always give compliments that encourage me to practice piano even more.

In many ways, my teachers at Clairbourn have shown me the importance of coming together as a group. When I am in class, my English teacher, Mrs. Taylor, often puts us in different groups to work on projects and Mrs. Corwin always motivates everyone to join in class discussions. When I am out on the field, Mrs Devasto and Coach teach us to work for the good of the team. Overall, my teachers have had a lasting impression on my development.

One word I’d use to describe the class of 2016 is ‘unique’. Every single one of us has different personalities and is strong in different kinds of activities. Even though we each have our own friends and think differently about different issues, we all come together as a group and help each other. Whether on a simple math problem or a group project, we support one another along the way, since we recognize that we are all walking down the same path, transitioning from a middle school student to a high-schooler. I feel very fortunate to have classmates that I will always remember.

From my experience at Clairbourn I’ve learned that in order to be the best version of ourselves, we need the mentorship and support of others. I encourage future students to reach out and make lasting relationships with peers and faculty, for they will help you to succeed in the future.
