Kerry Reiling
What is your connection/history with the school? My husband and I both attended Clairbourn, and both of our children are also graduates.
What makes you want to serve on the Board?Clairbourn has been such an important part of my family’s life, and serving on the Board gives me an opportunity to give back to Clairbourn.
What work, volunteer, passions, hobbies do you have that give you insight or skills that are helpful to the school?Children and education have been my passion my whole life. I started out babysitting and then moved on to work in after-school care and summer camps. I got my teaching credential from San Diego State University, and I have been teaching preschool and elementary school since. I have also volunteered with the Pasadena Children’s Guild, Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts.
What is your favorite Clairbourn experience/memory that exemplifies our mission of Creating Scholars and Leaders with Heart? One of my favorite experiences that my children had was the second-grade Door of Hope pocket change drive. The students collected pocket change to donate to the Door of Hope, which was great in and of itself, but the school took it one step further and took the kids on a field trip to the Door of Hope. There, they got to see firsthand where and how the money they collected was being used and how others benefited from it.
