What is your connection/history with the school?
I am the parent of two former students. My daughter, Ivahnna, graduated from Clairbourn in 2012, and my son, Thomas, graduated from Clairbourn in 2020. Our family has been part of the Clairbourn community since 2004.

What makes you want to serve on the Board?
I credit the success of both of my children's educational journeys to Clairbourn School. I truly believe that the fantastic, knowledgeable, and nurturing teachers and staff, and the close-knit Clairbourn School community were major contributors to the foundation of my children's education. Serving on the Clairbourn School Board of Trustees is a way of giving back to a school that gave my family so much. It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve on the board with so many other talented members. I am eternally grateful to our school for my children's educational success and all the wonderful memories.

What work, volunteer, passions, hobbies do you have that give you insight or skills that are helpful to the school?
I recently retired from the Los Angeles Police Department, after 30 1/2 years of service in both the rank of police officer and Sergeant. During my tenure, I had the privilege and opportunity to work a variety of assignments that ranged from Patrol Officer, Training Officer, Patrol Sergeant, and Specialized Unit Sergeant. I believe that after my lengthy tenure, both my law enforcement training and experience have given me a broad understanding of our diverse communities.

I believe that with my experience, I can assist in diversifying our school. In an effort to include students from all walks of life, so that our students can not only get a great education, but also learn from the different backgrounds of our diverse communities.

What is your favorite Clairbourn experience/memory that exemplifies our mission of Creating Scholars and Leaders with Heart?
I have so many great memories and experiences that exemplify our mission. Just to name one, my son graduated from Clairbourn School in 2024, and he went on to La Salle High School, where his leadership, sense of community, responsibility, and spirituality earned him many student honor certificates. He carried those values to the University of Miami in Florida, where he was voted, by his graduating class, as school senator. Once again, I truly believe that the educational foundation he received at Clairbourn School was a major contributor to his educational success.
